ATLANTA, GA (September 19, 2006) - On October 9, 2006, the urban media specialist powerhouse, Radio One, Inc., will once again honor the best and brightest stars south of the Mason-Dixon Line with the Second Annual Dirty Awards. This award show was created to highlight the uniqueness of southern stars and their contribution to the music industry. Radio One believes the south has always played an instrumental part and influence in the international growth and popularity of today’s hip hop music.
VH1's Hip Hop Honors show celebrates the music's legends. This year they acknowledge the artistry of Afrika Bambaataa, Beastie Boys, Ice Cube, Russell Simmons, Rakim, Eazy E, MC Lyte, and the Wu-Tang Clan. The show's host is Ice T and appearances by Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson of The Roots, Common, Da Brat, Diddy, Erykah Badu, Fat Joe, George Clinton, KRS-One, Lil Jon, Lil' Kim, Mike Epps, OutKast, Remy Ma, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Q-Tip, Xzibit, Young Jeezy and more.
